Experience
In my private practice in Amherst, MA, I provide individual therapy and family sessions to clients ages 5-75. I treat a variety of issues, including trauma and PTSD, disrupted attachments, self-harm, family conflict, substance use, AD/HD, anxiety, depression and mood disorders. I also provide parent education and guidance to parents with complex parenting issues. I completed my Psy.D. at the Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology (now William James College) in 2001 and was licensed in 2002. I am also an accomplished flutist and singer, and having sideswiped a professional music career, I enjoy working with musicians, artists, dancers, writers, and creative people of any kind. Also important to my practice is my ongoing learning about experiences of individuals from marginalized communities, my own white privilege, and how that interacts with my work as a white woman psychologist in the current context of a shortage of BIPOC psychotherapists.
